Full video: Police deputy body-slams teenage girl to the ground in Carlifonia
A police deputy is seen in a video body slamming a teenage girl to the ground, which has caused uproar and prompted an investigation. According to the sheriff’s office, a cop fired pepper balls at the ground in an effort to scatter the crowds. According to the detectives, the attempt was “ineffective,” and people started to approach him.
“As additional deputies arrived, another pepper ball round was deployed toward the subjects and a 16-year-old female grabbed the pepper ball launcher,” according to the sheriff’s department.
The incident has raised concerns about police brutality and the use of force against juveniles. It has also raised questions about the training that police officers receive on how to deal with teenagers.
