This November, Democrats in Virginia may find it more difficult to stop a complete Republican takeover of the state government as a result of a story that was published in The Washington Post on Monday.
A Democratic candidate running for a House of Delegates seat in a tight-contested district reportedly livestreamed videos of herself with her husband in their private moment on the website Chaturbate, according to a tip from a Republican operative to whom the Washington Post granted anonymity.
Susanna Gibson can be seen in videos currently trending along side with her husband online and encouraging watchers to pay them with ‘tips’ for specific requests
Susanna Gibson called the leak of the videos “the worst gutter politics.
“I will not be intimidated or silenced,” she said.
“My political opponents and their Republican allies have shown they are willing to commit a crime to attack me and my family because there is no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak out.”
“A criminal act has occurred here, and it’s the dissemination of revenge porn by a Republican operative,” Gibson’s attorney, Daniel P. Watkins, told the AP.
She is a 40-year-old mother of two and a nurse practitioner.
