GOVERNOR Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State on Thursday said the ongoing verification exercise for workers and pensioners would facilitate growth and development of the state as well as ensure proper planning and prompt payment of workers salaries.

The Governor who stated these when he visited the Verification Centre at Ilorin West Local Government assured that the exercise would enable the State to make right provisions for civil servants and earn their legitimate dues as at when due.

Alhaji Ahmed explained that the verification exercise was to give the government accurate data of the state and Local Government Councils’ payroll and ensure that only those properly employed receive salaries and pensions accordingly.
He appealed to the workers to be patient as the verification exercise progresses, assuring them that the exercise would end challenges associated with the payment of salaries in the state permanently.

The Alternate Chairman, Kwara State Committee on Personnel Database Development, Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold while conducting the Governor round the Centre disclosed that two thousand seven hundred and forty-seven workers and pensioners had so far been captured.
Alhaji Gold explained that the exercise had been designed in three stages with a view to easing the verification process.

Also speaking during the visit, the Consultant in charge of the exercise, Mr. Victor Inyang said forty staff had been mobilised to enable the workers, teachers and pensioners go through the accreditation, verification, data capturing and finger print with ease.
The exercise which started on Monday, 4th of April will end on the 16th of May across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
