ASO-OKE: DELIBERATE MOVE BY THE SENATE PRESIDENT TO LIBERATE THE GRASSROOT ECONOMY AND CREATE THOUSANDS OF JOBS FOR THE YOUTHS AND OUR WOMEN THROUGH ITS VALUE CHAIN

The Senate President today, held an interactive meeting with the association of ASO OFI practitioners in Ilorin and KWARA State at large.

The meeting was at the instant of the Senate President through the Entrepreneurship Consultant, Mallam Nasir Abdulquadri and Director of Project and Empowerment, ABS, Mandate constituency office, Yinka Otukoko. The interactive session by the Senate President was to inform the Aso Ofi practitioners about his interest in liberating the grassroot economy through intervention , legislation and institutional framework , also to hear from them how best their vocational
skills could be enhanced , innovated and expanded.

Mallam Yinka Otukoko made did the introduction and briefed the Senate President how far they have gone in getting the buy in of the stakeholders.

In his opening remark, Nasir Abdulquadri, the Consultant said the initiative can never be better than now when the Senate President himself is championing #BuyNaijaToGrowNaija. This is an act of commitment and walking the talk by starting from your constituency sir, Kwara economy will never be the same by the end of the implementation of this initiative and project.

The Senate President in his remark, however , made a commitment that he would work with the speaker house of Assembly, Rt honourable Ali Ahmed and discuss with the Executive governor, Alhaji Fatah Ahmed to see the possibility of adopting Aso oke as school uniform and others in order to create a large market for the product.

He reiterated his commitment to see his people doing well and be economically independent.

He promised to initiate investment intervention and make the materials for the Aso Ofi vocation to be accessible at local level.

The chairman of the Association praised him and thanked him a lot for his continuous thoughtfulness for their well-being and welfare. They said they are proud to be associated with the Senate President.
