On Wednesday, a video showing two women being attacked after being paraded by a mob two months prior in Manipur was widely shared on social media.
The event, according to the police, took place in a different district, despite the fact that the first information report (FIR) was submitted in Kangpokpi.
N Biren Singh, the chief minister, has directed the police to look into this situation right away.
According to Thewire.in, the incident occurred in B Phainom village in Kangpokpi district on May 4. One of the women was abused, the first information report (FIR) filed in connection with the incident says.
The video shows several men, apparently Meiteis, walking alongside the two women as they are led into some fields. The video shows at least some of the men assaulting the women.
