The Crimean bridge that linked Russia Federation to Crimea peninsula has just been hit by a drone. The video circulating online shows the kerch bridge gutted by fire.

Moscow places great strategic and symbolic weight on the almost 12-mile crossing, popularly known as the Kerch Bridge. It is the longest in Europe. Following a fuel tanker explosion on the bridge in October, Monday’s assault was the second to occur since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine.

According to a Russian governor, a Russian couple killed in the explosion on the Crimea bridge on Monday was visiting the peninsula with their family.

Their 14-year-old daughter, who was hurt, was also traveling with them.

According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the region’s governor, the family was traveling from the Belgorod region, which is near to Russia’s border with Ukraine.

According to Russia’s foreign ministry, Western nations may have assisted in what it is calling a “terrorist” attack by Ukrainians on the Crimea bridge.

Writing on Telegram, Sergey Aksyonov, the head of the Russian administration in Crimea, said: “Traffic was stopped on the Crimean bridge. An emergency occurred in the area of the 145th support from the [Russia side of the bridge].

“Law enforcement agencies and all responsible services are working. Measures are being taken to restore the situation.

“Given the current situation, I ask residents and guests of the peninsula to refrain from traveling through the Crimean bridge and, for security reasons, choose an alternative land route through new regions.”
