Sehaj Arora and Gurpreet Kaur, a Punjabi couple from Jalandhar, India, have become famous for their unique kulhad pizza. They started their business, Kulhad Pizza, in 2020, and it has quickly become popular among locals and tourists alike.
Their kulhad pizza is prepared with a unique dough and cooked in a kulhad, a traditional earthen pot. Then, fresh toppings like mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, onions, and peppers are added to the pizza.
The distinctive flavor that the kulhad gives the dough, according to the pair, is what sets their kulhad pizza apart from other types of pizza. Additionally, they assert that because their pizza is prepared in a clay pot without the use of oil, it is healthier than other pizzas.
The Punjabi couple’s kulhad pizza is a testament to the creativity and innovation of entrepreneurs in India. It is also a reminder that traditional Indian cuisine can be adapted to modern tastes and preferences.
