40,000 people may have had their flights canceled as a result of a significant fire that started in one of the parking lots at London’s Luton Airport.
According to Bedfordshire Fire Service, 1,500 cars may have been in the parking lot and suffered damage as a result.
An airport employee and four firefighters were sent to the hospital. Since the fire broke out just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, at least 140 aircraft scheduled to take off or land at the Bedfordshire airport have been canceled. aircraft will remain delayed until at least 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
One witness described the pace at which the fire tore through the upper floor of the parking lot as “incredible” as they heard car alarms and loud booms.
