In their much awaited boxing bout, Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis eventually faced off on Saturday night in Las Vegas. As Davis entered the match with a record of 28-0 and 26 knockouts, it took place inside the T-Mobile Arena.
Davis acknowledged as a gentleman that Garcia was a tough opponent, but assured that Cruz was even tougher than “King”.
Davis had a usually hesitant entrance to the battle as he assessed his opponent early on.
Garcia unleashed a few punches in the first round, but neither fighter took much damage.
Early on in round two, Garcia initiated his first significant assaults against Davis by launching combinations at him.
In the second round, Garcia seemed to be in control of the fight but Davis floored Garcia with a left to the chin and altered the course of the battle.
After that, Davis dominated the majority of the following five rounds before stopping the fight with a shot to Garcia’s liver in the seventh.
Garcia fell to the ground after the shot as Davis whirled away in jubilation and increased his record to 29-0.
