Police have been shown on videotape hitting Imo State University students after they were denied access to their phones.
The police officers could be seen dragging and shredding the victims’ clothing while slapping, beating, and slashing them with a machete in a 45-second video of the incident.
From the footage that several locals in the neighborhood captured, it was gathered that the police officers, who were driving a dark-red Toyota Sienna minivan, attacked the students’ compound and began beating them up without identifying the nature of their offenses.
