VIDEO: Norman Powell bleeds profusely after a scary injury vs. the Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons’ center Jalen Duren accidentally elbowed Clippers guard Norman Powell in the face during the fourth quarter of the team’s game on Saturday afternoon. Powell sustained a frightening facial injury.

Powell goes up for a rebound with five minutes remaining in the game alongside Jalen Duren of the Pistons. Duren attempted to tap the ball in, but his attempt was unsuccessful. Powell was struck in the face by Duren’s elbow as they both fell back to the ground. Powell clutched his right eye at once and collapsed to the floor. There was blood all over the floor when team personnel came to respond to him. Given the volume of blood, Powell appears to have suffered a serious cut.

Powell was obviously disturbed, so medical personnel raced to help.

Powell was obviously frightened but still awake when medical personnel raced to his aid. To seal the horrific incision between his eyes, they stitched him up. Powell was able to tell reporters that he was okay in spite of the frightening event. Powell’s words were confirmed by Clippers coach Ty Lue, who said that the player was well.

Despite the terrifying nature of the accident, Powell seems to have avoided significant effects. He could be able to return to the court after passing concussion testing. Powell has shown himself to be an invaluable member of the Clippers’ bench this season, making a major contribution with his shooting and scoring abilities.

American professional basketball player Norman Powell was born on May 25, 1993, and he now plays for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Powell was a Pac-12 all-conference player during his collegiate career with the UCLA Bruins. The Milwaukee Bucks chose him in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft; they then transferred his draft rights to the Toronto Raptors. 2019 saw him win an NBA title with Toronto.

Before going to UCLA, Powell led his California high school team to a state title and was named an all-state player twice. As the highest returning player for the Bruins going into his senior year in 2014–15, he became a team captain and was named to the first team of the Pac-12.
