Security footage released by police shows a chilling scene: a 13-year-old boy,Derek Rosa calmly walking towards his mother’s bedroom, moments before allegedly st*bbing her to death while his newborn sister slept nearby.
Irina Garcia was seen affectionately cradling her newborn daughter in her bedroom on a baby monitor, just moments before the vicious attack that claimed her life on October 12. When the murders started, Garcia had just given birth fourteen days prior and was in her Hialeah, Florida, apartment alone with her infant and teenage son.
Though prosecutors have not yet offered more information regarding what they believe is happening in the picture, his right arm looks to be moving in the picture.
The motive for the attack remains unclear. The family has described the boy as a quiet and withdrawn child, but no history of violence has been reported.
