A horrifying incident unfolded in Ukraine on Friday, December 15th, 2023, when a village councillor threw three grenades into a heated meeting, injuring 26 people, six critically. The attack, which took place at the council headquarters in Keretsky, Zakarpattia region, has sent shockwaves through the country and raised concerns about the potential for further violence.
During a contentious debate, a man in black was seen walking through the door of a council meeting on a police video that was uploaded to Telegram.
Before throwing the grenades into the center of the room, he makes a fleeting attempt to get people’s attention by asking, “May I, may I?” Moments later it exploded.
“As a result, 26 people were wounded, six of whom are in grave condition,” the police statement said.
Regarding a potential motive for the incident, which has left six people critically injured, police have not yet spoken.
At the time of the event, Facebook was livestreaming the meeting.
