The report reaching Kwaralefro is that thabo Bester has refused to eat since he was arrested.
He requested that his food be deliver by his legal team because he doesn’t trust prison food.
On April 7, eleven months after his escape, Bester and his friend Nandipha Magudumana were apprehended in Tanzania. Yet, it seems that the hunt for him only began on March 24 after GroundUp learned of Bester’s escape.
Convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester made an appearance in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on Friday after being recaptured in Tanzania and returned to South Africa. He was charged in relation to his escape from the Mangaung Correctional Center, which was administered by G4S, on May 3, 2022.
So that the prosecution could finish its investigation, the matter was tabled until May.
Dr. Nandipha Magudumana and Thabo Bester reportedly provided testimonies to Tanzanian authorities following their detention, according to Tanzanian police Dr. Nandipha stated, “She was being held against her will by Thabo.”
Police Minister Bheki Cele said that the woman who allegedly helped break her partner, Thabo Bester, out of prison, was cooperative with officials when the couple were nabbed in Tanzania almost a week ago.
Medical doctor Nandipha Magudumana is due in a Bloemfontein court on Thursday to face a host of charges linked to helping Bester escape last year.
